Gerhardt Merkel studied business administration with a concentration in sales and marketing in Nuremberg; he can look back on a nearly thirty-year career in the IT and telecommunications industries. As CEO and EMEA president of renowned international companies and groups in the software and hardware industries, and as the Chairman of the Board of a company publicly listed at the stock exchange market, he was in charge of building and expanding companies and portions of companies as well as the entire restructuring and reorganization process of companies and divisions. His responsibilities also included selling companies. An international business environment and the various challenges it presents were part of his daily work.
On the basis of his experience and the skills he developed over a long and successful career, he is superbly equipped to advise and support companies who need to fill important positions and write job requirements to ensure they get the right person on board.
Mr. Merkel’s personal motto is “People make the difference.” He lives by this maxim and is always looking for the best professionals available.
Mr. Merkel sits on the boards of several companies and is himself an executive coach.
He also is the President of the Bundesverbands for Wirtschafsförderung und Außenwirtschaft (BWA) Bavaria.
